How the Vertical Jump Calculator Works
- This app calculates your vertical jump height based on the time you spend in the air during your jump.
- It uses the formula: Jump Height = (g * t^2) / 8, where g is the acceleration due to gravity (9.81 m/s^2) and t is the time of flight.
- You can use the built-in chronometer to measure your jump time automatically, or enter the time manually if you have it measured externally.
- To use the chronometer:
- Press “Start” just before you jump
- Press “Stop” the moment you land
- The app will automatically calculate your jump height
- For manual input, simply enter your flight time in seconds and click “Calculate”.
- The result shows your vertical jump height in meters, along with a simple animation to visualize the jump.
- This method assumes ideal conditions and doesn’t account for factors like body position or air resistance, but it provides a good estimate for most practical purposes.
